Buy Aveeno Cream Online UK

Aveeno is a moisturising lotion that contains colloidal oatmeal. Make Aveeno a part of your daily skincare routine to keep your skin supple.

Aveeno Cream is available in a 100ml tube, or a pump containing 300ml or 500ml of cream.

You can buy Aveeno from our online pharmacy. You don’t need a prescription to buy Aveeno Cream. You

What is Aveeno used for?

Aveeno Cream is intended to treat and prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin, and mild skin irritations (e.g. nappy rash and radiation therapy skin burns).

You can use Aveeno to treat a number of skin conditions, such as:

  • eczema
  • dermatitis
  • psoriasis
  • dry skin

Aveeno Cream is specially formulated to be gentle on dry and sensitive skin.

How does Aveeno work?

Aveeno belongs to a group of treatments called emollients. These are substances which soften the skin and hydrate it, while also reducing itching and flaking.

There are several ingredients in Aveeno which help to moisturise and soften your skin, bringing relief from dry and flaky skin.

Aveeno Cream contains colloidal oatmeal (finely ground oats). This natural ingredient is renowned for its soothing and moisturising qualities. The oatmeal in Aveeno is added to a base of other moisturising ingredients, such as liquid paraffin and glycerin.

Liquid paraffin forms an oil coating on the surface of the skin, preventing water from evaporating.

When glycerin is absorbed through the skin, it acts by drawing water to itself. This traps water just below the skin’s surface to help keep the skin moisturised.

How do I use Aveeno?

Aveeno Cream is a moisturising cream that should be applied directly to the skin. It should not be ingested or used internally.

Moisturisers such as Aveeno Cream should be used on a regular basis to prevent the skin from drying out. You may need to use Aveeno multiple times a day, especially if you have chronic skin conditions.

Before using Aveeno Cream in a pump, you will need to prime the pump.

Rotate the top of the plunger to unlock it, then press down the pump a few times until the cream comes out. This is to ensure that the pump will produce a consistent quantity of Aveeno Cream.

To Apply Aveeno Cream:

  1. Dispense a small amount of cream onto your hand.
  2. Gently massage the cream into your skin until it is absorbed.
  3. Wash your hands after using Aveeno Cream.

You can use Aveeno Cream as often as required.

Use Aveeno Cream after washing to lock in moisture. When you wash, soaps can wash away the natural oils that protect and hydrate your skin. Applying a moisturiser straight after washing can rehydrate the skin and prevent it from drying out.

Aveeno and other emollients can make surfaces extra slippery. Take extra care when using emollients.

What should I do if I accidentally use too much Aveeno Cream?

If you apply too much Aveeno Cream, simply wipe away the excess cream with a tissue or paper towel and discard it in the bin. Accidentally using too much Aveeno Cream is unlikely to have an adverse effect on your health.

Aveeno Side Effects and Cautions

You must read the patient information leaflet included within the packaging of Aveeno Cream before you use it.

The patient information leaflet contains vital information about using, storing and discarding Aveeno cream, as well as other important information regarding the safety of the product.

If you have any concerns about anything in the patient information leaflet, speak to your doctor or ask a pharmacist.

Who should not use Aveeno Cream?

Aveeno may not be suitable for you.

Do not use Aveeno:

  • on broken, cut or irritated skin
  • on areas of skin that have been recently shaved
  • around the eyes, nose, mouth
  • on the genitals or around the groin

Aveeno Cream is not a suitable treatment for acne or rosacea.

Speak to your doctor or a pharmacist before using Aveeno Cream if you:

  • are experiencing dry skin on your face
  • are using other medicated skin treatments

If you are unsure whether Aveeno is suitable for you, speak to your doctor or ask a pharmacist for advice.

Side effects of Aveeno Cream

Every medicine has the potential of causing side effects, but not everyone will experience them.

It is important to look out for side effects while using Aveeno Cream, and to report any side effects to your doctor.

Side effects of Aveeno Cream may include:

  • Burning, itching or stinging at the site of application
  • Changes to skin colour

This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Further information regarding the safety of Aveeno Cream, including a complete list of side effects, can be found within the patient information leaflet.

If you experience any side effects, regardless of whether they are listed above or in the patient information leaflet, inform your doctor right away.

Allergies

Do not use Aveeno Cream if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Aveeno Cream.

If you experience an allergic reaction after using Aveeno Cream, stop using the lotion and seek medical attention immediately. Go directly to your nearest accident and emergency department. Remember to take the packaging and any remaining medicine with you, so that doctors treating you know exactly what and how much you used.

Other safety information

Always follow the directions in the patient information leaflet. If you are unsure how to use the product, consult a pharmacist.

Warning: Emollients, such as Aveeno, are flammable. Do not use Aveeno around naked flames. Wash surfaces that come into contact with Aveeno, such as clothing and bedding, to reduce the risk of fires.

Do not use Aveeno Cream past the expiry date printed on the packaging.

Never throw away Aveeno Cream via household or water waste as this can harm the environment. Instead, you should take any unwanted or expired medication to your local pharmacy and ask them to dispose them safely for you.

Always store Aveeno Cream out of sight and reach from children and pets.

Never share Aveeno with others - even if they are experiencing the same symptoms or have been diagnosed with the same condition as you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I drink alcohol while using Aveeno Cream?

Alcohol has no negative impact on Aveeno Cream, and you can drink alcohol while using this moisturiser. Avoid drinking more than 14 units of alcohol a week, as per the government’s guidelines.

Will Aveeno Cream impact my ability to drive or operate machinery?

Aveeno Cream will not impact your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, Aveeno Cream may cause blurred vision and irritation if it comes into contact with your eyes. If you accidentally get Aveeno Cream in your eyes, avoid driving or operating machinery until you feel safe to do so.

Can I use Aveeno Cream on my face?

While Aveeno Cream is a general moisturiser that can be used on most areas of the body, it is not the best product for use on the face. If you wish to moisturise you face, it is best to find products formulated specifically for the more delicate facial skin, including other Aveeno products.

Can I use Aveeno Cream alongside other topical treatments?

Speak to your doctor before using Aveeno in conjunction with other topical therapies. Moisturisers may help other topical treatments to be absorbed more quickly.

You should wait half an hour before using Aveeno Cream and any other topical therapy cream. This is to prevent Aveeno Cream from being diluted by other products - which can reduce its effectiveness - and vice versa.

Is Aveeno Cream good for acne or rosacea?

Aveeno should not be applied to skin affected by acne or rosacea, as it may cause irritation.

Where can I buy Aveeno Cream?

You can buy Aveeno Cream online from a trusted online pharmacy, such as Prescription Doctor, or from high street pharmacies and supermarkets. You don’t need a prescription to buy Aveeno.
