Betamethasone & Neomycin cream is used to treat:
The cream is prescribed when a secondary bacterial skin infection is present or suspected to occur in conjunction with another skin condition.
Betamethasone & Neomycin cream is stronger than hydrocortisone creams, and is indicated to treat conditions that other steroid-based creams and ointments have not treated.

Betamethasone & Neomycin skin preparations contain a corticosteroid called Betamethasone, and an antibiotic called Neomycin.
Betamethasone reduces redness, swelling, and itching of the skin, while Neomycin kills bacteria on the skin responsible for infection.
A treatment course of 7 to 10 days with Betamethasone and Neomycin cream is usually sufficient to improve symptoms, such as flare-ups of red, inflamed, and irritated skin. Talk to your GP if the signs of skin infection do not improve.

If you forget to apply the cream or ointment, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as usual.

If you become pregnant while using Betamethasone & Neomycin cream, inform your doctor right away.

Warning: Betamethasone & Neomycin cream contains liquid paraffin, which is highly flammable. To prevent the risk of fires, ensure that clothing and bedding that have come into contact with the cream are washed thoroughly. Do not smoke or go near naked flames when using the cream.

Do not use Betamethasone & Neomycin cream past the expiry date printed on the packaging.

Always store medicine out of sight and out of reach of children and pets.
Never share a medicine that has been prescribed to you with anybody else, even if they are experiencing the same symptoms or have the same condition as you.
It is safe to drink alcohol while using the cream or ointment.
Betamethasone and neomycin cream should not impact your ability to operate machines or drive a vehicle.
Betamethasone & Neomycin cream will not interfere with hormonal contraceptives, including the combined contraceptive pill or the morning after pill.
If you are using other topical medicated creams or moisturisers, consult your doctor about how to use them in combination with Betamethasone and Neomycin. Moisturisers can dilute the medicated cream, interfering with its effectiveness.
Betamethasone cream is typically more potent than hydrocortisone cream. However, this also carries with it a higher risk of side effects. Your doctor will prescribe the most suitable amount for you.
You should not use Betamethasone & Neomycin cream on your face without your doctor's approval.
