• Dehydration: Often a knock-on effect from losing too much fluid from vomiting and diarrhoea, it can lead to more severe problems if left unchecked.
• Inflamed pancreas: While this is an uncommon side effect, you should see a doctor immediately if you experience symptoms. Signs include severe stomach pain, possibly accompanied by nausea or vomiting.
• Allergic reaction: Swelling in areas such as the throat, lips, face, or tongue; difficulty breathing or swallowing; or extreme itchiness and rashes are all signs of a severe allergic reaction to one or more ingredients in the Wegovy pill.

Are There Any Long-Term Side Effects of Wegovy Pills?

Some of the serious side effects can become long-term conditions, though this is rare. Issues in the pancreas, gallbladder, kidneys, and eyes (vision problems for those with type 2 diabetes) can all last long-term. Speak to your doctor as soon as you encounter them.

• Nausea: When it comes to meals, the little-and-often approach is recommended. Three large meals could be reduced down to five smaller, more frequent ones. The contents of those meals should be easily digestible plain items, such as rice, crackers, toast, and plain pasta.
• Diarrhoea: Staying hydrated will help here, since you can lose a lot of fluids with diarrhoea. Don’t drink too much at once; use the same approach with your meals. Small sips throughout the day should see you through.
• Vomiting: A combination of prior advice will aid you with vomiting. Easily digestible foods that won’t cause an upset stomach, and plenty of water throughout the day. If you’re struggling to keep either food or drinks down, speak to your clinician.
• Constipation: Fluids, once again, are instrumental in helping. Fibre is also important for bowel movements, so foods such as whole grains, nuts, seeds and fruit should make a world of difference. Laxatives are also an option if your constipation symptoms do not improve.
• Headache: You guessed it - fluids. Headaches can be worsened by other effects on this list, like nausea and diarrhoea, so keeping on top of those should help reduce headaches.
• Stomach pain: Along with the meal recommendations for nausea, you should also consider what you do after meals. Sitting down is best advised, with good posture and a straight back. This is the ideal position for your stomach to digest food, rather than lying on your back. You may go for a light walk, but avoid strenuous activity like jogging or going to the gym.
• Fatigue: Boosting energy levels on Wegovy can include a more nutrient-rich diet, electrolyte-based fluids, and consistent, good-quality sleep. Caffeine can be a quick fix, but take care not to become dependent on it, as too much caffeine can cause other issues with the treatment.
• Indigestion: For this very common side effect, avoiding fatty, spicy, and processed foods will help. Sitting upright rather than lying down after meals helps, and antacids like Gaviscon or PPIs like Omeprazole can further reduce indigestion.

Wegovy Pill Side Effects vs Injections

• Diabetes medication: Wegovy lowers blood sugar levels in your blood, so when used in conjunction with diabetes medicine that does the same, your blood sugar could become dangerously low.
• Oral medication: Because slowing the rate of digestion is one of the key aspects of how Wegovy pills work, other oral medications may not get absorbed properly. This is part of the reason why the 30-minute fast is required after you take the pill.
