What is Treclin, and how does it work?

If you're looking for effective acne treatment, Treclin Gel is worth considering. This prescription medication contains an antibiotic and a retinoid to reduce the appearance and symptoms of acne effectively. Treclin works by limiting the growth of bacteria that causes acne, reducing sebum (oil) production and reducing inflammation. It's suitable for adults over the age of 18s.

How long do you need to take Treclin?

In most cases, your acne should clear up with several weeks of treatment, but it may take up to 12 weeks for Treclin to work. The exact amount of time it takes will depend on your acne symptoms.

Speak to your doctor if your acne symptoms don’t improve or if they get worse once this time has passed.

Treclin can only be used for 12 weeks.

Treclin side effects

• Acne, dry skin, redness of the skin, increased sebum production, photosensitivity reaction, itching, rash, scaly rash, scaling of the skin, sunburn
• Application site reactions such as burning, inflamed skin, dryness, and redness of the skin

Rare: may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people

• Hypersensitivity
• Underactive thyroid gland (symptoms may include fatigue,

• Dry hair,
• Rough pale skin,
• Hair loss,
• Increased sensitivity to cold).
• Headache
• Eye irritation
• Gastroenteritis (inflammation of any part of the gastrointestinal tract), nausea
• Inflamed skin, herpes simplex (cold sore), rash macular (small, flat, red spots), skin bleeding, skin burning sensation, loss of skin pigmentation, skin irritation
• Application site symptoms such as irritation, swelling, superficial skin damage, discolouration, itching, scaling.

How to store Treclin

Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

Do not store above 25 degrees. Do not freeze.

Keep the tube tightly closed.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube after “EXP”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Shelf life after first opening: 3 months.
