What Are Foundayo and Wegovy?
Foundayo and Wegovy are both GLP-1 medications. This stands for Glucagon-Like Peptide-1, a naturally occurring hormone in the body that regulates appetite. When mimicked by a GLP-1 treatment, the medication can lower your appetite to help you avoid overeating. How Do You Take Wegovy?

If performing the injection alone, the upper arms are not recommended, as they can be a hard-to-reach spot by yourself. How Do You Take Foundayo?

Foundayo vs Wegovy Dosage Schedule
Foundayo is taken as a daily oral pill, whereas Wegovy is a weekly injection. As you progress through either treatment, your dose will increase to help you maintain consistent weight-loss momentum.
First, let’s look at Foundayo’s dosage schedule. You will start on the lowest dose of 0.8mg, before gradually moving up once a month to 2.5mg, 5.5mg, 9mg, 14.5mg, and finishing on a maximum of 17.2 mg, though not everyone will require a dosage that high. It is taken once a day, every day for the duration of the treatment.
Wegovy, by comparison, is taken once a week on the same day each week. It will initially be prescribed at 0.25mg, and this will steadily increase to a potential 7.2mg, if needed. The schedule is as follows:
How Do Foundayo and Wegovy Compare to Mounjaro?
Mounjaro still remains the #1 most effective treatment for weight loss on the UK market. Its highs of 22.5% average reductions are yet to be rivalled by any of its contemporaries. After switching, you may be placed on a lower dose of Foundayo compared to the dose of Wegovy you were on. This is because they do not share the same active ingredient, and so your body must acclimatise to the new medicine. If you keep up a healthy diet and regular exercise, you theoretically should not see too much of a decrease in your weight-loss progress so far.
Is Foundayo Better for Weight Loss Than Wegovy?
On average, Foundayo is less effective for weight loss than Wegovy injections are. As stated throughout this article, effectiveness rates should not be your only reason for choosing a weight loss treatment, but they should be one of your primary ones.
Who is Eligible for Foundayo?
Eligibility for Foundayo comes down to your BMI, or Body Mass Index. If it is 30 or above, you may take Foundayo. If it is 27 or above, and you have at least one weight-related problem, such as high cholesterol or cardiovascular disease, then you may take Foundayo.
